HouzeCheck hires Sexton as commercial director – Mortgage Strategy

HouzeCheck has appointed Richard Sexton as commercial director.

Sexton joined General Accident Property Services, the business that went on to become LSL Property Services, in 1991. He was part of the management buyout team that took the business into private ownership in 2004.

At LSL, he held several management positions in property services, asset management, and, latterly, valuation divisions during his tenure.

Until his recent resignation, Sexton was the longest serving board member of e.surv, LSL’s surveying and property valuation brand.

In his new role, Sexton will report to HouzeCheck’s chief executive and founder Amit Bansal.

HouzeCheck is a property surveying portal leveraging cloud, digital, and AI technologies with the aim of improving the surveyors’ and customer experience.

Speaking to Mortgage Strategy, Sexton says leaving e.surv was “a very big decision” after being there for 34 years but highlights “it was time for a new challenge”.

He comments: “I started having conversations with HouzeCheck and while I thought there would be a risk associated with moving roles, I also thought if I don’t do it now I will probably never make a decision – it was scary but also exciting.”

“HouzeCheck is a nimble business, which is at the beginning of its journey, which is the opposite to e.surv which is a mature and successful company. The fact Housezecheck is much earlier in its journey appealed to me because it gives me a chance to build something again.”

Bansal adds: “Alongside Paul, Richard brings a wealth of industry experience to the business, and I am confident he will help drive our vision forward and shape the future of HouzeCheck.”
